Husted Wins Endorsement from Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council

COLUMBUS, OH — Senator Jon Husted has secured another major labor endorsement as the Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council announced its support for his campaign. The council is composed of 29 affiliated unions representing more than 10,000 skilled tradesmen and women across northeast Ohio.

This marks Husted’s fifth labor endorsement of the campaign. He has already flipped three organizations that endorsed Sherrod Brown in 2024 — Operating Engineers Local 66, Operating Engineers Local 18 and the Northwest Ohio Building & Construction Trades Council. He has also earned the endorsement of the National Border Patrol Council. Today’s announcement continues the trend of workers breaking from Sherrod Brown and lining up behind Husted.

“Ohio’s Building Trades Unions have a great friend and advocate in Jon Husted,” said David Wondolowski, Executive Secretary and Business Manager of the Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council. “We appreciate and support an ally like him in the U.S. Senate. He has always stood firmly with our working men and women, and today we proudly stand with him.”

“For decades, Ohio’s tradesmen and women have built the backbone of our communities,” said Husted. “I’m honored to earn the trust and endorsement of the Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council. I’ve proven that I’m a reliable partner in growing Ohio’s economy and creating good-paying jobs—unlike too many in Washington who have grown out of touch with working families and failed to deliver. My record shows that I’ve always stood with the men and women whose work moves our state forward.”
