Husted earns support from Buckeye Firearms Association

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Today, Jon Husted announced the Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohio’s leading advocate for Second Amendment rights, has endorsed him for the U.S. Senate. Husted received an A rating from the organization, with Sherrod Brown receiving an F.

Husted has a long record of defending the Second Amendment in Ohio. In 2006, after HB347, a comprehensive concealed carry law reform and statewide preemption measure, was vetoed, then-Speaker Husted acted quickly to bring an override vote to the floor. As Lieutenant Governor, Husted played a decisive role in the DeWine – Husted administration’s effort to sign every pro-Second Amendment bill into law, including constitutional carry and stand your ground legislation.

“Jon Husted has a proven record of standing up for the Second Amendment and defending the constitutional rights of law-abiding Ohioans,” said Linda Walker of the Buckeye Firearms Association. “We trust him to bring that same commitment to Washington and fight back against efforts to restrict our freedoms.”

The endorsement underscores the growing coalition behind Husted’s campaign, including support from conservative leaders, grassroots activists, and organizations across Ohio.

“The Buckeye Firearms Association knows I don’t just talk about the Second Amendment—I stand up for it and get results,” said Jon Husted. “To me, protecting the Second Amendment means trusting law-abiding citizens to defend themselves, their families, and their way of life. I’ve always fought to protect that right. In the Senate, I’ll keep standing up for responsible gun owners and pushing back on any effort from Washington that chips away at those freedoms.”
